How to Make Baby Wall Art
- 1). Paint baby's room a solid color. Any color goes when decorating for a little one. Children love bright colors as well as pastels. Bright colors help to stimulate brain function and learning in baby, aiding in development. Pastel colors are soothing and calming to a fussier baby and provide comfort.Decide which wall you want to paint baby's name on. It might look great on a wall beside the crib or above a headboard. Sketch it out on a piece of paper.
- 2). Measure how many inches you'll have per letter by measuring the width of the area you'll work in. Say you want baby's name to span the entire length of the crib but not farther. Use a tape measure to find out how many inches long that space is. Then take the number of inches it is and divide it by the number of letters in baby's name. The number you get is how many inches wide each letter can be. A space between a first and middle name must be counted as a letter for an accurate measurement.
- 3). Move all furniture out of the way. Lay down the painters tarp on the floor beneath the wall you will be working on. Use a small paint brush and the color chosen for the first letter in baby's name. Slowly make the shape of the letter on the wall. Take your time and gently brush the paint brush along the wall in the form of the letter. Slowly go over it until you are satisfied with the shape.
- 4). Move onto the next letter, leaving the first as only an outline. Remember that once you have completed all of the letter outlines you will allow them to dry and then later finish them. Each letter will become wider and more shapely. Complete each letter outline. Do all of the letter in baby's name.
- 5). Once all of the outlines are done and dry it's time to add the final touches to the art you are creating out of baby's name. Keep in mind that it is art while finishing this project. Curl the ends of the letters to make them fancy or make them wide to make them fun. Using the assortment of paint brushes you have go over each letter again. Fill it out, widen it up and define it as the letter it is. For an extra twist allow to dry then outline each letter with a small brush and a different color paint.
