Look Twenty Years Younger! Facelifts and Necklifts Together

103 7
Many people go in to get a face lift in hopes that it will make them look much more youthful.
This is not a misconception as face lifts have high satisfaction ratings.
What many people forget about is the neck area.
A youthful face on top of an aged neck can look unnatural and strange.
It is a good idea to talk with your doctor about getting them both done at the same time.
Many people have been looking into facelifts as a solution to gravity, age and sun exposure.
Getting this procedure done can be a wonderful thing if done by a licensed and trained professional.
One common thing that people forget though, is that in order for a face lift to look as natural as possible, a neck lift can be done at the same time.
This keeps the appearance consistent and more natural looking.
A traditional face lift is performed in the following ways: an incision is made at the hairline around the temples, around the ear and then ending near the lower scalp.
From these incisions, the surgeon is able to pull fat, re sculpt cartilage, pull the skin (thus removing or improving the appearance of wrinkles) and put in any fillers or implants you may have discussed at an earlier time.
After all of this is done, the excess skin is trimmed and incisions are closed up and you are on your way to healing.
There are a couple other types of facelifts that have less incisions or have things done slightly differently.
The best way to know what you're comfortable with is to talk with your doctor.
But what happens after surgery? All of a sudden, you have this wonderfully younger, tighter looking face atop your neck, which hasn't been changed.
Many people don't realize that necks age with the rest of the body.
The skin can become loose and saggy and can also have wrinkles appearing.
This is one reason to get a necklift in addition to your facelift.
A necklift is done through similar incision areas, especially if you get them both at the same time.
The difference is that in addition to the other incisions, there will likely be one made beneath your chin in order to help contour that area.
The doctor will pull the fat from the neck and will also pull the extra skin that has accumulated.
He or she will then be able to close the incisions and leave you with a younger appearance everywhere above your shoulders.
The benefit of doing this is that you will be able to more fully appreciate and be happy with your results, as you won't notice any difference.
The goal of any cosmetic surgery is to look as natural as possible and if you choose to get your neck worked on at the same time as your face, you will definitely be more happy with the results overall.
Your doctor will be able to provide you with any information that you need and will likely be able to do some computer imaging showing you different affects with different choices.
Once your decision is made, you will be on your way to looking like you did when you were twenty.
