How to Enable an Asus Q Fan
- 1). Start or restart your Asus computer.
- 2). Access the BIOS menu by holding down the "F2" key while your computer is booting. When you arrive at the BIOS page, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate, and select options by pressing the "Enter" key. Use the "Esc" key to return to the previous screen.
- 3). Locate the "Hardware Monitor" sub-menu and navigate to the section labeled "Fan Settings."
- 4). Turn off "Smart Fan Control" by choosing this setting and using the arrow keys to set it to "disabled." Your fan will now be set to run at a constant speed. The default speed will be the maximum possible speed for your fan.
- 5). Change the "Fan Voltage" setting to adjust the amount of voltage going to the cooling fan. This controls the speed of the fan. You may wish to leave this set to the maximum of 5 volts initially and turn it down later if you find that the fan is too loud at full speed.
- 6). Save the changes you have made to the BIOS by pressing the "F10" key. Your settings will be saved and you will exit from the BIOS menu. Your computer will continue to boot in the usual manner.
