What Affects Capacity

• The velocity and volume of whatever is traveling through the duct both affect duct flow capacity. When each of these values increases, the area of the duct must increase as well. Some ducts must handle differing degrees of flow, such as ducts constructed to divert streams in construction sites, and this must be taken into consideration when designing the duct system as well.
