What Do I Do to Be Fruitful?

103 249
Prosperity in the eyes of God has nothing to do with financial gain, and a lot to do with spiritual growth, with planting our feet on a solid foundation and developing strong, firm Christian habits, focused on prayer and Bible study, and of course on witnessing to others through your transformed life, through your maturity and soberness, through your sound mind.
I have a serious problem understanding the motives and the heart of those great evangelists and preachers that require great private jets and big mansions and the latest fashion of clothing, those who live an extravagant lifestyle as they go about their evangelistic affairs.
I do respect their motives and their reasoning, I just do not understand it, and I do not agree with it; because the way I look at it, it just does not coincide with the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ; things like "if you have two tunics give one" and "sell all of your stuff and follow me".
I do not remember ever reading in the Bible, of any of the apostles traveling in an eight horse powered chariot, or needing an assistant to carry their many tunics.
I do remember the boldness of their speeches and the punishment and persecution each of them suffer for the glory of God, I do remember Jesus telling them not to bring anything with them, and to stay at the house of those who receive them, and live their blessings to them.
And this is the point of my writing this morning; bearing fruits has a lot to do with reflecting Jesus in your life and showing Him to those around you, it has a lot to do with your choice of words and behaviors, with mirroring the Life of Christ for everyone to see.
And if God chooses to make you an evangelist, or an apostle, then let His purpose guide your life, according to His word, and be an evangelist, or an apostle who honor God with your attitude, your work, your words.
And If God blesses you over-abundantly, be it through being an evangelist or an apostle or by any other mean, remember, there is nothing yours on this earth, it is all His and a most beautiful way to Honor Him in by staying humble, by using your blessings to bless those that are hungry and the sick, and the widow, and the elder, according to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, which you have read many times.
Because the minute you embrace your blessings as yours, and decide that is no longer viable to look at the time on a fifty dollar watch, but instead you need a famous brand, the minute you realize that a twenty thousand dollars American car does not suffix, and you need something in the range of forty to eighty thousand, the minute your three hundred dollar suits are not good enough and you need designer brand, that minute, you start walking away from the Kingdom of heaven, and I do not care How good a businessman you are, how great a preacher, or an evangelist, or a corporate monger you are, that minute you change direction and start heading to the kingdom of darkness.
I remember telling my Kids last night during their devotional; there is nothing wrong with riches, and big homes, and fancy dresses; God is only looking at your heart.
Jesus said to his disciples; It is not what goes into your mouth what makes you unclean, but what comes out of your heart, (Matthew 15:11) Because when you have the heart of Christ you are full of love and compassion, and it hurts inside when you see children dying of malnutrition and of curable diseases, it burns inside you when you see entire villages suffering for lack of water, and there are so many out there lacking the very basic, the most elementary resources for nutrition and sanitation.
When you carry with you the light of Christ, it screams inside you to do something about the lost, about the many who live in bondage, enslaved by the deceptions of this world, and they are all around you, at the reach of your hand,.
And when you either encroach yourself in a cocoon, totally disconnected from the reality of life, or walk oblivious to the ravages of poverty and corruption right on the streets of our cities, you are rejecting the most basic of Jesus commandments, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:39) Money becomes a great god to those who get trapped into adoring it.
Jesus said it very clearly; "you cannot serve both God and Money" (Luke 16:13b) And be it that you were born with it, or that you got it through hard work.
You are living a finite number of years and that money is going to stay when you are gone, yet what you do about it today will make all the difference on where you spend the rest of your eternal life.
But especially those who have been called by God to ministry, they share a greater responsibility, as they have been entrusted with caring for His sheep, and when they violate that trust, there nothing less but damnation.
Please search your heart today, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2) Rev.
