How to Make a Three-Sided Boomerang
- 1). Trace the pattern onto the plywood. Cut out the shape of the boomerang. Label the diagram with the following: the narrow side as the "bottom," the center as the "top" and the rounded side as the "front."
- 2). Right-handed throwers: place the boomerang cutout on a flat surface. Mark the left side of each blade as the "front," the right side of each blade as the "back" and the center of the blade as the "top." Left-handed throwers: place the boomerang cutout on a flat surface. Mark the right side of each blade as the "front," the left side of each blade as the "back"and the center of the blade as the "top."
- 3). Using the orbital sander, sand each blade, carefully contouring the blade as you sand to form the airfoil shape. Blend each blade as you move toward the center of the boomerang.
- 4). Attach the fine-grit sandpaper to the sanding block. Sand by hand until the contours are blended and smooth.
- 5). Paint the boomerang. Personalize it with your own design or colors.
