How to Change Weed Trimmer Replacement Heads
- 1). Disconnect the trimmer from its power source by unplugging the cord from the electrical outlet or detaching the spark plug wire. Unscrew the bump head cover. Some models require two tabs to be depressed in order to remove the cover.
- 2). Remove the inner reel and spring from the outer hub and set the spring to the side.
- 3). Hold the new, prewound inner reel and place the end of the line in the slot or eyelet in the outer hub. Insert the inner reel into the outhub. Make sure to the spring in place.
- 4). Hold the inner reel so it will not turn and tug on the line until it begins to slide through the eyelet or slot.
- 5). Attach the bump head cover. Either screw it back on or press it into place so the plastic tabs are locked. Connect the unit to its power source.
