    Ocean County College

    • Ocean County College in Toms River offers a variety of certificate and associate degree programs. The college is located about 10 miles southwest of Brick. Areas of study at the school include digital mass media, computer science, engineering, human services technician work, environmental science and administrative office management. Students also can study allied health, fire science, interpreter training, nursing, visual communications technology, exercise science and information technology. The college offers day, evening and Saturday classes, and an honors program is available for students. Distance learning also is available for students who want to complete their associate degree programs in business administration through online or home-study courses or complete many of their general education core classes or liberal arts degree courses from home. Ocean County College is part of the New Jersey Coastal Communiversity, an alliance of eight postsecondary institutions. Rocker Bruce Springstein is a famous alumni of the college.     Georgian Court University

    • Gerogian Court University is located about eight miles northwest of Brick in Lakewood. The private university, which has both a women's college and an evening coeducational university college, offers teaching in the Roman Catholic tradition and pays special attention to women. Students at the school can earn their undergraduate certificates/degrees or their graduate degrees in career areas such as accounting, business administration, criminal justice, gerontology, health information management, education, marketing, social work or tourism, hospitality and recreation management. The university also is part of the New Jersey Coastal Communiversity and offers online/web-enhanced courses and accelerated programs. The school's other sites are in Woodbridge, Cumberland County and Wall. Founded in 1908, Georgian Court University is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

    Capri Institute of Hair Design

    • Capri Institute of Hair Design in Brick offers several programs of study such as cosmetology, skin care, nail technology and instructor training. Through the private college, students can become media hair and makeup consultants, research and product development professionals, fashion photography stylists and even hair color specialists. The institute also has sites in Clifton, Kenilworth, Paramus and Roxbury. The institute was founded in 1982 and is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. Capri Institute of Hair Design was the first accredited cosmetology school in New Jersey, according to the college.
