How to Run a Command in Outlook Express
- 1). Click on the Windows "Start" button, then click on "Run." This is the text field in which you can execute commands.
- 2). Type the following command, including the quotation marks:
"c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe" /option - 3). Replace "/option" with either "/newsonly" or "/mailonly."
- 4). Click on the "OK" button to execute the command. If you execute the "newsonly" command, you cannot send or receive emails; you can only read news or view newsgroups and the "Mail" tab is not present. When you run the "mailonly" command, you cannot read news or view newsgroups; you can only read email and the "News" tab is not present.
