Pistol Loaders

• 1). Hold the magazine upright and place the magazine loader on top of the magazine. Note that you will need a magazine loader that is constructed to fit your specific type of pistol magazine (i.e., a .40-caliber magazine loader will not fit a 9-mm magazine).
  
  
• 2). Place a round at the top of the loader and slide the rear cap into the slot provided. A bullet cartridge has a rear rim, which is slightly wider than the cartridge body, and the loader will have a slot which the rear rim fits into on top.
  
  
• 3). Push the round down until you hear a click, and you can visibly see the round inside the magazine. Repeat this process until the magazine is full. Note that some models of magazine loader operate by placing a round into the top of the loader, then you push the loader down, then pull it back up to load the magazine, repeating the process until the magazine is full.
  
  

Ammunition Strip Loaders

• 1). Hold the magazine upright and place the loader on top of the magazine. The loader will easily fit onto the top of the magazine.
  
  
• 2). Place the ammunition strip inside the loader in the slot provided. The ammunition strip will be on a slender metal strip of five or 10 rounds, depending on which kind of ammunition you're using. The ammunition will be facing horizontally, while the end of the metal strip is inserted into the slot vertically.
  
  
• 3). Place your hand on top of the ammunition, push down until all rounds slide off of the strip and enter the magazine. Discard the metal strip and remove the loader.
