How to Troubleshoot a Barracuda Pool Cleaner
- 1). Turn off the pool pump by unplugging its electrical cord to avoid a possible electric shock while you're working on the Barracuda.
- 2). Ensure that the Barracuda is properly installed. Check the Barracuda's hose; make sure each section is tightly connected to the next.
- 3). Pick up the Barracuda cleaner head and ensure that the hose is inserted into the hose valve on the head. Place the head back into the water, making sure it’s submerged completely.
- 4). Purge any air from the Barracuda. Remove the open end of the hose from the pool skimmer. Restore power to the pool pump. Place the open end of the Barracuda hose up to the return jet valve on the poolside wall. Allow the water to flow through the Barracuda's hose until you notice the water coming out of the cleaner head. You will know the water is coming out of the head when the head begins to move and drift upward a bit.
- 5). Hold the Barracuda's hose underwater to ensure it’s completely submerged and no air is trapped inside. Place the open end of the hose into the pool skimmer outlet valve to ensure suction.
- 6). Turn the pool pump off and then back on. The Barracuda should now be functioning properly and moving around the pool floor.
