Homemade Organic Beauty Tips
- This is a very easy skin scrub to make and uses only one half of an orange and a few tablespoons of cornstarch. Simple squeeze the orange so all of the pulp and juice is emptied into a bowl. Squeeze hard and get as much of the contents as possible. Add 4 tbsp. of cornstarch and mix thoroughly. Mix until you are left with a smooth paste. Scrub into your skin after a shower and rinse off.
- Dry shampoo is shampoo that is applied in between showers or baths to rid the hair of any excess oils. This is a simple recipe for a dry shampoo that only includes one ingredient: cornstarch. Cornstarch is used in cooking to prevent sugar from caking, a process that is caused by excess moisture. This same function can be useful in preventing hair from becoming greasy. Simply sprinkle 1/2 cup of cornstarch onto your hair and scalp. Let it sit for one or two minutes and brush out thoroughly.
- This hair oil will keep your hair healthy, and this recipe should make enough to last you around six months. The hair oil will help distribute the natural oils in your hair if used properly, and is made from natural mineral oils. Mix 1 oz. of rosemary oil and 1/8 oz. of lavender oil. Spread a few drops on your hairbrush using the palm of your hand. Brush your hair thoroughly. Keep the mixture in a cool, dark place.
- This exfoliant can moisturize your hands and prevent the skin from becoming overly dry. By exfoliating it will also rid your hands of excess dead skin. You will need to mix 1 oz. of ground almonds, 1 tsp. of lemon juice and honey, and 2 tsp. of sunflower oil. Mix until it is an even paste. Use 1 tbsp. at a time and simply rub into your hands for one or two minutes and rinse off.
