My StreetPilot Won't Connect to a Computer
- 1). Connect your GPS' USB cable to your computer's USB port and to the GPS unit. Turn on the GPS unit. If Windows does not find the device disconnect the cable from the computer and try again in the same slot.
- 2). Try another USB connection. There are usually several USB ports on your computer. Disconnect some of your USB devices and try connecting the GPS to one of those connections. Keep unplugging other USB devices until everything else is disconnected to see if Windows will find the GPS.
- 3). Replace your GPS cable. You can purchase a new cable from Garmi's website. Your cable may be broken in a way that you can not see.
- 4). Try connecting your GPS to another computer. Windows may have a problem that is preventing detection. You may have to reinstall Windows to solve the problem.
