Laser Hair Removal Is A Medical Practice?
There are more branches in the field of medicine than any normal human being can enumerate. An average person, with no interest in medicine whatsoever, is only aware of the most common practicethe one done by a general practitioner, present in every hospital and clinic in the world. Or most of us just assume that anything involving clinics is already a medical practice. What about in the field of hair removal? Are the ones involving operations in rooms like the laser hair removal considered medical practices? We dont know, right? Thankfully, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Association made a study on this. Believe it or not, they actually produced a list of American states and whether or not the individual states law consider laser hair removal to be a medical practice.
There are actually a number of states that consider laser hair removal as a medical practice. However Ive taken a special interest in Virginia because I live there. Turns out the Virginia law does not acknowledge it as a medical practice, as stated in the Code of Virginia Section 54.1-2400.01. how do I know about this? I googled it, of course. Im not savvy with medical stuff myself. I was just curious when I stumbled upon this list on the Internet. Laser hair removal is a medical practice in the state of California though. It figures because almost everything is accepted in California.
When you think about it, though, why wouldnt laser hair removal be considered as a medical practice? Yes, it deals with only cosmetic operation, but it is still an operation involving science, legit equipment, and licensed practitioners. The core of medical practices is to make individuals better or feel better, right? Well, isnt that what laser hair removal do? It makes insecure, hairy men and women feel better. It even does moreit makes individuals look better. Isnt that the more accommodating course? I am not belittling the other medical practices. I just thought people should acknowledge such hair removal methods as an extended branch of medicine. Even just as secondary. Even just as an accessory.
That is what laser hair removal is about anyway. yes, we can say it is some men and womens accessory to beauty. On the other hand, though, that may be asking too much. We can just be thankful that it is even included in the law of most states. Well, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Association placed unspecified on some states in the list. I am glad that even though the Virginia law does not consider laser hair removal as a medical practice, at least it is acknowledged and is given a space in the clauses.
Dope, huh? Only law students and law geeks read constitutional clauses. We are not even aware that these kinds of laws exist. Thank God for studies, right? As for me, I am just thankful that there is laser hair removal available everywhere. I admit, it is expensive, but it is worth the bucks. I know you share my sentiments if you are a laser hair removal person yourself.
