How to Use WD TV Live to Stream Media Over the Internet
- 1). Plug one end of the A/V cable into the TV and the other end into the WD TV Live. Plug the Live's power cable into a wall outlet. Turn on your WD TV Live.
- 2). Connect your Ethernet cable to the back of your network router and to the back of your WD TV Live box. (See References 1, Page 54) This will connect your WD TV Live to the Internet. For wireless connections, skip this step.
- 3). Plug your WD TV Live USB wireless adapter into the USB input on the left side of the device. This adapter allows the device to recognize and connect to wireless networks.
- 4). Select "Settings" and "Network Settings" from the WD TV Live main menu. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the word "Settings." Press "Enter" on the remote to open the menu. From the window that opens, select "Network Setup." Choose "Automatic" for wired connections to have the WD TV Live automatically to add itself to your home Internet connection. Select "Wireless" and "Auto Search" for wireless connections. Select the name of your wireless connection with the "Enter" button on the remote. If prompted, use the remote to enter your network password into the WD TV Live.
- 5). Highlight the "Finish" option on screen and select it with the remote's "Enter" key.
- 6). Press the "Menu" button on the WD TV Live remote control to return to the unit's main menu. Select the icon from the menu that represents the type of Internet streaming content you want to access.
- 7). Select the "Create a New Account" option on the page for the service you are using. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the "Create a New Account" option. Press "Enter" on the remote to access the "Create a New Account" menu. All of the services available on your WD TV Live require you to manually sign up for a free user account before you can use them. Input your desired account information using the remote control. Once the accounts are setup you will automatically be logged in and can access and upload streaming media over the Internet.
