Blind Date Vs Internet Dating

Blind Date number 1 Your best friend, although they may soon be an ex best friend after tonight's teeth pulling exercise, has set you up on a blind date, with a friend of a friends work colleague.
Naturally, she enticed you into this blind date on the basis that the mystery guy is supposedly "hot property" and is such a hunk you would be mad not to at least meet him, right? Foolishly, you accept on the basis of dragging yourself away from washing your hair for the third night on the trot, if nothing else at least your hair will get a break, right? Now, there you are.
It's been 30 minutes since you were introduced.
You are sitting in a Thai restaurant, even though you hate Thai food looking around for a stray dog to feed your entree to, right? Yep, he is a bit of a hunk, but you only get muscles like that by being a sports fanatic and you hate sports.
So far, his only topic of conversation has been to discuss the various merits of the FA league's current managers.
If only you knew what an FA was, right? You try to steer the conversation onto politics or current affairs, but the blank looks only confirm that his remote control doesn't stray from the sports channel.
In desperation, you look at your watch and it's only been 10 minutes since you last looked, you begin to mentally calculate how long until you can make a graceful exit, at the same time as nodding thoughtfully at his latest comment on the whatever it is thingy.
Been there? Blind Date number 2 Now imagine a date with a guy who doesn't need to be introduced to you, because you already know lots of things about him.
Having exchanged emails for a couple of months, you already know you share a passion for french cuisine.
So, you are enjoying a good meal in "le bistro" and haven't stopped laughing at his jokes, just like when you chat on messenger.
There are so many subjects to chat about, so you ask him about his recent trip to New York and discover lots of other places he has visited that you have only dreamt of seeing.
One subject leads flawlessly into another and you have totally forgotten that you wear a watch.
The waiters are busy clearing the empty tables and you tear yourself away from the conversation to glance up at the clock.
It's late..
..
very late, where has the time gone? I know which of these I would prefer.
I am sure your friends idea of the "perfect man" is a little different from your own and I would question her ability to know what his interests actually are, bearing in mind she has never actually met or chatted to him! Now which one would you prefer?
