How to Stockinette Knit Without the Curve
- 1). Knit the first row as normal.
- 2). Knit the first four stitches on the purl row, purl to the last four stitches, and knit four stitches.
- 3). Continue to work in this pattern, building up rows with knit stitches at the beginning and end of each purl row, to create a border along the sides of the knitting.
- 1). Slip the first stitch of the row by pushing the needle through the back of the stitch, and then slipping it off the left-hand needle onto the right-hand needle.
- 2). Pass the yarn forward, and then slip the next stitch purlwise.
- 3). Take the yarn to the back of the work and knit the next stitch.
- 4). Repeat pattern to complete the row, and then repeat all three steps for the following rows. You must have an even number of stitches for this method to work.
