How to Draw a Circle in Photoshop
- 1). Select the "Ellipse Tool," nested beneath the "Rectangle Tool" in the "Tools" panel. Select the "Shape Layer" icon from the tool options panel above the canvass. This will allow you to draw an editable and scalable vector-based circle. Select your desired circle color from the "Color" option in the tool options panel.
- 2). Move your cursor to where you want the center of your circle to appear. Click and drag while holding down the "Shift" key to begin your circle. The circle may extend to the side. To make the center of the circle its origin, press and hold the "Alt" ("Option" for Mac) key, without releasing your mouse or the "Shift" key. Release all keys when the circle is complete, as you want it. It will appear on a new fill layer with a circular vector mask in your "Layers" palette, to the right of the canvass.
- 3). Make your other edits and use the "Save As" option from the "File" menu to save your work.
