How to Brush Your Teeth Properly

105 9
Some people may think that "brushing your teeth is very elementary" but other people may think that "there are so many new technologies, is there something new to learn?" The answer is no, there's nothing new to learn and it's very basic, it's the most important way to keep your hygiene. Brushing your teeth for 2 minutes every day, twice a day will help you to maintain a good level of hygiene.

Do you brush differently with a manual brush vs. a power brush?

The answer is yes, with a manual brush you have to do all of the work, whereas a power brush does all of the work for you, all you have to do is guide the toothbrush in the right area, as a power brush will oscillate and get into all of the hard to reach areas. You don't need to apply too much pressure because the tooth brush is doing all the work for you.

What's the right way to use a power toothbrush?

Firstly, it's important to read the instruction on a power brush because everyone is different. Each quadrant if your mouth should be brushed for forty seconds, some tooth brushes come with timers for each quadrant and some come with timers for the full duration of the brush, and some come with an alarm that tells you if you're putting too much pressure on the teeth.

The most important thing is that you want to have a 45 degree angle from the tooth brush to the gums and all you need to do it hold it in place, as the power brush will do all the work for you. Guide the brush down each tooth, and make sure you spend 40 seconds each quadrant, after you've done the outsides of the teeth you're then going to go to the insides of the teeth and brush again at a 45 degree angle, and also the biting surfaces. So there are 3 different surfaces that you need to clean. After cleaning all 4 quadrants you should also brush your tongue. By cleaning your tongue you're getting rid of bacteria and particles that can cause bad breath.

What if you're using a power brush?

A manual toothbrush requires a little more energy, and there's no time r on there so it takes a little responsibility to make sure that you're brushing for 2 minutes. The concept is the same though, always brush at a 45 degree angle, rocking the brush back and forth slightly and away from the gums, brushing 3 teeth at a time, making sure you're not adding too much pressure, repeat the same into the side and then on the biting surface. Do all quadrants and then brush your tongue.

You should brush your teeth a minimum of twice a day or ideally after every meal because food particles can accumulate bacteria, and bacteria can cause bad breath and gingivitis.
