Feeling Tired Too Often? Drink lots of water

105 41
Water, known as the 'liquid of life', forms two thirds of the human body and is the single largest component of all your body tissues. It is vitally present in your blood, muscles, brain and even bones. The health benefits from drinking water are numerous - water enables healthy blood circulation, carries nutrients through the body, regulates body temperature and also ensures smooth functioning of the digestive system by flushing out toxins and other waste products from the body. Therefore, drinking enough water is as important as eating enough food.

Because enough water is lost from the body time to time, through excretion, exercise, sweat or even simply by breathing, it is necessary to keep refilling the body as much as possible. Lack of enough water in the body causes dehydration, which could lead to various problems. Dehydration primarily prevents the blood from circulating properly and, as it progresses, causes the brain to become less active. This is why a person with chronic dehydration feels too tired or sleepy too often. Brain fog, fatigue and exhaustion are among the symptoms of dehydration, which can be avoided by drinking enough water every day.

Now the question that arises is- what is the quantity of water that you should drink every day? An ideally advisable quantity is atleast 2 Liters every day, which makes it 8 glasses of water. However, this may not be easy to begin with if you have not had the habit so far. Therefore, there are a few easy tips for you to get started on drinking more water and keeping track of the water quantity:

• Keep track of the quantity of water you drink and further that you need to drink, by keeping 2 Liters of water in a container of the same capacity. Make sure you use a glass or cup of 250ml each time you take water from it.

• Make it a point to spread it out- do not force yourself to empty the container by the end of the very first day; you will only end up feeling bloated and uneasy drinking up too much at once. Your body can't properly absorb too much water all at once either. So it doesn't do good to drink 8 glasses all at a time! Instead, commit yourself to drinking atleast half a glass of water every hour. This way, you can get to drink 8 glasses of water in a total of 16 waking hours by the end of your day.

• If you spend long hours working at a desk or with a computer every day, make sure you have your water container in front of you and within your reach so you don't miss out on your regular water intake.

• If you live in places where the climate is usually cold, drinking warm or lukewarm water is the best way to continue drinking more water. This works out as an even better choice than hot drinks like tea or coffee.
