1999 Chevy Venture Battery Installation
- 1). Open the Venture's hood and prop it open with the hood hitch. Locate the battery housing, which is near the front left corner of the engine area.
- 2). Unscrew the holding bars' set screws using the adjustable wrench. Turn the screws counterclockwise until they are loose, and remove the bars.
- 3). Disconnect the red and black cables on the battery terminals using the 8mm socket and ratchet. Use the socket to prevent stripping the terminals. Pull the used battery out, and set it aside for recycling.
- 4). Place the new battery into the battery housing unit where the used battery was. Attach the black negative cable to the black negative terminal on the battery. Attach the black cable first to help prevent power surges or shorts, because the black cable grounds the battery. Attach the red positive cable to the red positive terminal on the battery.
- 5). Place the holding bars onto the battery. Align the screw holes so you can tighten the set screws with the wrench. Turn the set screws clockwise until the battery cannot move. Close the hood. Dispose of the used battery at a recycling center.
