Personalised Football Books: From the Premier League to the BSBP
Get a group of football fans together and I reckon they'd spend half the time reminiscing over former glories. Okay, so it might not be that necessary when you support United or Chelsea, but when you're a supporter of 'smaller fry', remembering better times is sometimes the only way to raise a smile. That being the case, personalised football books should be right up your street.
So what exactly are personalised football books? Produced thanks to a huge archive of newspapers owned by the same company, they're tabloid-sized hardbacks focussing entirely on the chosen club. Inside, they're full of reprints of original reports from the Daily Mirror, typically kicking off in the early part of the 20thcentury and concluding at the end of last season.
What's more, and as the name suggests, the football books can be personalised with the recipient's name on a certificate on the title page. Then, depending on what cover you go for, there's also the chance to have your chosen name gold embossed on the front cover. So what of the covers? The standard finish is a linen-effect grey, the next level up is a charcoal, leatherette finish, while the top of the range is luxury leather in red, black or blue.
