The Help Factor

105 12
The word help is spoken often in our society by many people, but there is no action connected with the word. Sometimes we can talk about helping others. Or, we often talk about helping at the church or our houses of worship. There two major days that I considered helping with each year, but I have yet to lend a helping hand. My hope is that after reading this article we both will be inspired to put some action behind our words.

I hope to find the actions to go along with my verbalization of the word help. I remember speaking with a couple of my Aunts about a sad situation. I eloquently described the sad circumstances that had happened. I was feeling good about the way I had spoken. One of aunts spoke up and went right to the heart of the matter. She said, did you try to help? I was dumbfounded; she went right to the heart of the matter. Did you try to help? A slice of humble and a heart check all in a few simple words.

We need you have some action behind our words. It is easy to sit back and eloquently describe the dire straights others, and take no action. Myself and others sometimes believe that our ability to tell of a sad situation excuse us from having to help out. This is not so, we are probably required to do more because we are so aware of the total situation. With practice you will find there is a blessing in helping with words and actions.

Let us find a way to help by action. Some people say; I would help but I do not know what to do. It is our job as fellow members of the human race to find a way to help. We can help others by the following: pray, buying essentials for others (food, water, shelter), paying rent, supplying a ride (hospital, appointments, church), mowing the elderly or sickly neighbors yard, visiting (hospital, prisons, elderly homes, assisting the pastor, picking up trash in someone else's neighbor, and many more ways. There are many ways to add action to the word help.

When we help others with our words and actions we experience a feeling of completeness. There is a deep felt satisfaction that comes when our words are backed up be action. Being able to tell of a sad situation is one thing, but getting in there and helping is true sweetness to the souls. If we do that, we can answer the earlier question; yes, I did try to help. Love never fails!
