- 1). Go to a website that teaches Arabic. One such site is Speak 7. Go to the number section. Note the numbers listed toward the bottom of the page, as well as the name of the number in transliterated Arabic. Write the numbers on a sheet of paper as you pronounce the name of the word. This helps you associate the name of the number with the way that it sounds.
- 2). Learn to pronounce the names of numbers properly by going to a site that provides pronunciation examples. A site like Muttaqun has links that enable you to listen to a speaker pronouncing the numbers. Listen to the speaker a few times so that you are able to get the nuances of how to pronounce the words properly.
- 3). Begin to learn larger numbers like 20, 30 and so on up to 100, 1,000 and 1,000,000. Listen to how the name of that number is pronounced. Write the number down and the name of that number in Arabic. Do this several times until you are comfortable in recognizing the name of the number and pronouncing its name. Doing this may be a little easier than learning the earlier numbers like 1,2, 3 and so on. The name for 1,000,000 in Arabic sounds very close to how it is pronounced in English and the name 1,000 in Arabic is simply "Alf."
