How to Get Rid of Window Tint From Car Windows
- 1). Spray the exterior of the tinted windows with a garden hose.
- 2). Cut open black plastic garbage bags and tape them over the wet windows on a hot, sunny day. This will cause heat and humidity to build up between the exterior glass and the garbage bags, which will help loosen the tint on the inside glass.
- 3). Pour undiluted ammonia into a plastic spray bottle.
- 4). Place black plastic garbage bags over the rear deck of the car and the padding below the side windows, using masking tape to hold the bags in place. The garbage bags will protect the rear deck and upholstery from accidental spills.
- 5). Wear a breathing mask and open all car doors.
- 6). Spray ammonia over all tinted surfaces inside the vehicle and allow the ammonia to set.
