How to Replace the Headlamps on a 2003 Acura RSX

104 7
    • 1). Open the hood of your 2003 Acura RSX, then remove the power steering reservoir out of its bracket, located on the passenger's side of the car.

    • 2). Pull the electrical connector out of the headlight.

    • 3). Pull on the tab to remove the rubber weather seal.

    • 4). Unclip the hold-down wire end from its slot, and then rotate the wire, so that you can remove the bulb. Make certain you remove the burned-out bulb, as there are two bulbs on each side of the car.

    • 5). Place a new halogen headlight bulb into the hole, handling the bulb carefully by its plastic case, and ensuring that you keep the tabs in their slots. Avoid touching the glass bulb or bumping it against anything--if you do, use a clean cloth and denatured alcohol to clean the glass. Scratches on the bulb, as well as perspiration and oils from your skin can cause the bulb to burn out prematurely, since the halogen bulbs become very hot when lit.

    • 6). Place the rubber seal right-side-up over the back of the headlight unit--you should see the seal marked "Top."

    • 7). Lock the electrical connector in place by pushing it into the new halogen bulb tabs.

    • 8). Place the power steering reservoir back onto its bracket, on the passenger's side of the car.

    • 9). Turn on the headlights to ensure they are working properly.
