How to Report Immigration Fraud in Canada
- 1). Keep a written record in a notebook of all the fraud and parties' names engaged in fraud. This can be in the form of notes, evidence or all other relevant information.
- 2). Call the Canadian government's Border Watch Tip Line at 1-888-502-9060. If you are overseas, Citizenship and Immigration Canada recommends contacting a Canadian diplomatic office. These organizations have the capability to enforce Canada's Immigration Act.
- 3). Call the Canada Revenue Agency at 1-866-809-6841. Those engaging in immigration fraud may not have the necessary credentials or paperwork to work in Canada legally and therefore will not be paying taxes or reporting their income, if any. Other forms of fraud related to immigration fraud like social assistance fraud and employment insurance fraud may also be reported to the Canada Revenue Agency.
- 4). Ask for a case, log or complaint number from the agency spoken to for further reference. This can be used to report additional information on the same case or person, but following up using this number may be fruitless as Canada's privacy laws will prevent the agencies from telling you the outcome of the fraud report.
