Music can make or break party, there fore it is very important.
If you can hire a professional DJ, go for it, but most of us can't.
So, make sure you have enough CDs with the music that goes along with your theme.
Not all themes have sufficient choice of music, so you may need to add some of the tunes that are popular with your guests.
If you are not sure, ask your friends what they would like to listen.
And finally, the drinks and the food.
If your theme is Pirate's nest, then obviously rum will be drink for the night, but bear in mind that there may be some people who just don't like rum.
Make sure you have enough of everything, so that all of your guest can find something to drink, regardless of your theme.
With food, the most important thing is that it is good.
If you serve something delicious, nobody will care if it doesn't fit the theme.
