DIY Breaker Panel
- 1). Make sure the power to your main cables is off by calling the local power company and having them shut off your power at the transformer.
- 2). Feed the main power cables that come in from the meter through the back or top of the panel box and clamp them in place with the cable clamp.
- 3). Cut away about 1 inch of the wire sheath to expose the bare metal underneath.
- 4). Feed the black- and red-striped wires into the two main bus bar terminals. Tighten the lugs on those terminals with the torque wrench.
- 5). Feed the white-striped wire into the neutral bus bar terminal and tighten the lug.
- 6). Feed the bare copper ground wire into the ground bus bar terminal block and tighten the lug.
- 7). Replace the front panel of the breaker box. Have the power company turn back on your power.
