Have You Heard of Google Hummingbird?

Every time you adjust and get used to another algorithm change by Google, they just throw another one at you.
Right after Penguin and Panda changed the SEO game, here comes Hummingbird to change it even more.
Penguin and Panda were updates that put a lot of emphasis on finding quality websites while eliminating the SEO tricks that were helping lower quality websites climb their way onto the first page of search rankings.
These updates intended to find truly relevant websites while punishing poor SEO techniques such as link networks.
This was a drastic change for the SEO field and many professionals had to make drastic changes.
Google has now introduced Hummingbird, an entirely new algorithm.
Where Penguin and Panda were updates to the previous algorithm, Hummingbird is the first entirely new search formula from Google in many years.
So what is the intent behind Hummingbird? To dive deeper into user intent.
Google has typically based their search results off of the keywords that are present in the term that the user enters.
Google is trying to look deeper into the actual intend of the user rather than just looking at the keywords that have been used to search for results.
This is clearly another effort to improve the experience that Google users have when searching.
So if Google is putting less emphasis on individual keywords and is putting more emphasis on an entire phrase and what it means, what does this mean for SEO professionals? Honestly, it probably means that if you have made the changes to keep up with the previous updates, you are already on the right track.
Since Google is looking to look more into user intent and it trying to provide better results based on this idea, those that have started using strategies such as content marketing will likely benefit from the changes.
Websites with lots of fresh content that provide relevant information about their industry will provide Google with plenty of ways to match your business with these terms that they are providing results for.
If Google is focused on intent, deep and rich websites that provide the solutions to the terms being searched should benefit greatly.
While Hummingbird is a new algorithm that provides search results in an entirely new way, it is still following Google's recent trend.
They are simply trying to provide their users with the best websites possible.
Provide great and engaging information on your website and you will be just fine.
