Game Play

• Users can create and monitor different farms, purchase items and visit friend’s farms. Many users have several issues with the iPhone app that affects game play. The game often crashes shortly after loading. After a few minutes of play, the app will start to lag significantly. On some iPhones, the game will respond slowly to touch commands, or fails to respond at all.
  
  

Functionality

• As of 2011, the FarmVille iPhone app has a limited functionality compared with playing the game on Facebook or through the FarmVille website. For example, the developers released an update in 2011 for the gift area that added better organization, but the game still lacks all of the features found in the gift area on the full version of FarmVille. The iPhone app also allows players to sync their active Facebook or website farms with the app. However, the sync function does not always work and players will receive different status message on the app and on Facebook.
  
  

Known Bugs

• Several users have reported known bugs while loading the game, or during game play. Large farms may not load correctly, or may fail to load entirely on the iPhone app. An update in 2011 addressed the issues with large farms, but many users still have slow or failed loads. Users have trouble pausing their current farms to visit other areas. Visiting other farms can cause the app to crash entirely. Many players also have problems purchasing FarmCash.
  
  

Tips

• Future upgrades to the iPhone app may improve functionality, performance or game play. Players may resolve some issues by restarting the game itself. Larger issues, such as sync performance or problems loading, may require the user to restart the iPhone itself. A quick refresh of the app or the handset may correct some issues.
