How to Disguise the Liner in a Pond Waterfall
- 1). Spread a thin layer of sand over the liner in flat areas around the pond and waterfall installation. This could include the floor of the pond, the coping shelf or pond edge and the liner around the waterfall weir position.
- 2). Sprinkle gravel or pebbles at intervals over the sand to give it a more natural appearance. Pebbles can also help grade the transition from the edge of the pond to the surrounding ground.
- 3). Position river stones and driftwood around the perimeter of the pond on top of the liner's edge. This covers up the ends of the liner weighing it down and disguising it at the same time. Larger stones and pieces wood can also be placed inside the pond to give the floor a more organic appearance.
- 4). Build up the waterfall area with river stones to cover up any exposed liner. If need be, use waterfall foam to fill gaps between rocks and to hold them in position. Waterfall foam is a type of self-expanding foam glue and is black in color. Read the instructions and apply as directed.
- 5). Set a couple of water lily plants into the pond. The lilies will grow to the surface of the water and the water lily pads will cover the pond surface in part, helping to disguise the pond liner on the bottom of the pond and adding to the organic look of the pond.
