Two New Exciting Workouts For You To Try

When it comes to getting in shape it can seem like there are an infinite variety of options out there until you actually begin working out. Then suddenly you can fall into a rut, and before you know it you feel like a gerbil in a treadwheel, going around and around as you do the same routine over and over again. The final result is predictable as you soon grow bored of your routine and quit. What can you do to prevent this from happening? The answer is really quite simple: cross train. This is what professional athletes have done for a long time, and basically involves your doing whatever it takes to keep your body surprised and on edge as you push yourself to do new exercises and routines. If you traditionally weight train, then take up swimming. If you like to go for long bike rides, then try doing sprints. By changing it up, you will gain huge benefits.

What are some of the immediate reasons to try a new routine? The first is the simplest and most powerful, and that is simply that a new routine will be fresh and exciting and keep you from growing bored. This means that you will soon be looking forward to working out once more, and not feel as if you are doing the same thing over and over again. Another reason is that your body will break through any plateau's it might have hit due to doing the same routine for too long, and grow and expand into new ways by being challenged to do what it had never done before.

One of the most exciting new classes out there is called CrossFit, and it basically takes you into a world of extreme yet brief exercises that change day to day. You never repeat the same combination of exercises, but rather will be doing sprints and handstand push-ups once day, and then box jumps and squats the next. This keeps your body guessing and burning calories, leading you to developing a killer body.

Another great workout that has people talking is the P90X workout, which fixates on changing the routine itself in what Tony Horton the trainer calls ‘Muscle Confusion'. This means that your body never gets to adapt to the routine, as it is always being asked to do something new and different. P90X2 is an at-home workout as well, making it all the more convenient for you.
