104 208
    • 1). Evaluate your dog for symptoms of pyoderma. Signs of this condition include red lesions on the skin that may be draining. Your dog may also appear uncomfortable and be in pain.

    • 2). Take your dog to the vet. Contact your vet and advise of your canine’s symptoms. Request an immediate appointment. Your dog’s doctor should provide a full exam and culture the affected area for testing.

    • 3). Create a treatment plan for your dog. Request antibiotics to fight the bacterial infection. Your vet may also recommend treating your canine with topical shampoos. Administer all medication as prescribed because stopping early can cause health issues for your dog.

    • 4). Monitor your canine closely. Watch the affected area closely, observing any signs of increased redness or swelling. If your dog experiences these symptoms, take him back to the vet immediately.

    • 5). Encourage your dog to rest. Move your canine’s bed to a quiet place in the home. Minimize stress and encourage your dog to rest frequently.
