Lalu to Revive Its Party in Bihar With Congress Alliance
If rumors are to be believed then chances are high that RJD is moving for a tie up with Congress for the next big elections. Lalu Prasad Yadav, RJD chief met the Congress vice president on January 9 to talk of an alliance between the two parties in Bihar. This is his second meeting with the Congress party leaders. Earlier this week, Yadav met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in regards to the same matter. Though it does not look, that Rahul Gandhi is willing to enter into any such alliance with RJD. The prime reason being held is that Congress-RJD partnership would bring back the issue of corruption onto focus again. When other prominent political parties are fighting against corruption then Congress, extending an alliance to RJD will create a major distortion about the image of the party in the minds of the countrymen. Rahul Gandhi has been trying hard to create a, public perception that he is against corruption and it seems, that this alliance may be a blunder.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was in jail for the past two months for the fodder scam case, was out few days ago after Supreme Court granted him bail. He is now looking forward to reviving his party's alliance with Congress again. They isolated off, in the 2009 general elections, but now again Yadav is all set to convince Congress heads for a possible alliance between the two parties in Bihar. This alliance will help RJD to regain its position in Bihar again.
Lalu Prasad seems sure of the alliance to happen between Congress and RJD, which will put an end to the communal forces in Bihar, Jharkhand and elsewhere. In his speech given to the media after the meeting, Lalu did not reveal much about the issues that were discussed on, but was praiseworthy for Congress and Rahul Gandhi. He stated Rahul Gandhi's leadership is a million times better than that of Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal. He further added that the next elections will decide whether the country remains one or gets divided; attacking Narendra Modi's speech on communalism, the RJD chief stated.
So, for the time being it would not be wrong to say that the RJD chief is making all possible attempts to woo the Congress in order to get into a tie up soon. He is all set to meet the Congress, chief again later this month for working out details of the possible alliance. We all have to wait for just a couple of months for the final results.
