Sharepoint Services - How to Add a New Link to Your "Helpful Links" Web Part

103 35
In today's world, you can find everything online.
I am pretty sure that no matter what kind of product, service, or information you are looking for if you were to go online, you would be able to find it in a matter of seconds.
This has made life in the business world a whole lot easier to manage.
Sharepoint Services actually has a feature web part that allows you to simply add links to it for your team to use.
Here is how you add to your "helpful links" web part.
1.
The first thing you will want to do is login to your SP account.
You will not need to have admin rights associated with your login info to use this feature.
2.
Once you have logged in, find the web part on your home page or side menu bar that says "links".
Once you have found it, click on it.
3.
Now that you have clicked on the "links" web part, you will be taken to a new page.
That page will have a menu bar across the top of it.
Find the tab that is entitled "New" and click on that tab.
4.
Next, you will be taken to a page that asks you to enter the URL of the link that you wish to add to this web part.
It also allows you to enter a description of the link.
The description is what will appear on the home page, so put something that really gives a brief, straight to the point, picture of what that link is directed toward.
5.
After you have completed this, scroll to the bottom of your page and hit the "OK" button.
That's all there is to it! You have now added a link to your "Helpful Links" web part!
