Eating more to lose weight may seem like an odd plan, but if your goal is to lose weight this year, no matter the amount, it is not the best idea to cut calories with a conventional diet.
Diets that focus on restricting the amount of food you eat often fail.
When we restrict our bodies of calories, we send the signal to our bodies that we are actually starving.
This initializes a survival mechanism in us that slows down our metabolism and makes our bodies to hoard what calories we eat and store them as fat.
With a decrease in metabolism such as this, we will likely regain any weight lost from a restrictive diet and then probably gain some weight when we begin to eat normally again.
If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you should eat smaller meals and have them more frequently throughout the day.
Plus you should focus on eating more of the good foods that are healthy for your body.
By eating smaller portions of healthier foods you can raise your metabolism naturally.
This way, no signals will be sent to your body that tell it to store fat.
Instead of starving yourself, It is a better idea to get rid of the foods that are loaded with excess carbohydrates, salts and saturated fat, and in the process restock your kitchen with nutritious foods and snacks.
Fruit, yogurt, nuts, peanut butter and vegetables like carrots and celery are example of snacks that are healthy for our bodies.
Starvation diets rarely work, it is a much better idea to replace junk snacks like potato chips, crackers and cookies with the foods nature intended for us in order to lose weight and keep it off.
