How to Use a Pittsburgh Torque Wrench
- 1). Rotate the knurled adjustment knob on the end of the Pittsburgh torque wrench until the vernier settings on the barrel of the wrench are lined up to the factory recommended lug nut torque settings. Fit the correct size socket onto the square lug on the torque wrench.
- 2). Loosen the lug nuts one by one by placing a lug nut wrench socket onto the head of the lug nut and turning the handle counterclockwise half a turn.
- 3). Fit the torque wrench socket onto the lug nut. Turn the wrench handle clockwise until you feel and hear a distinctive click. At this point, the torque wench cannot tighten the lug nut any further, and the nut is set to the recommended factory setting.
- 4). Repeat this procedure on all the lug nuts on your vehicle.
