World Cruises - How to Pack for a World Cruise - 3 Surefire Tips

103 25
Taking a world cruise is a dream vacation for most seasoned cruisers and novices as well.
With exotic ports of call in every corner of the Earth, this dream vacation is usually at least three months in duration and takes people literally around the planet, stopping in several different countries and continents along the way.
Packing for your world cruise can seem somewhat daunting when you consider how many days that you will be away from home and all of the different climates you will be passing through while on your journey.
1.
Most cruise lines will offer laundry services
for a small fee while on your world cruise.
They usually will only charge a flat fee per large bag of laundry, or even price it out per pound.
They also offer dry cleaning services for more formal attire.
You can also save a little bit of money if you pack a little Woolite or laundry detergent and hand wash your delicates yourself.
Most cabins have a laundry line in the bathroom just for drying clothes, or you can lay the items on top of a towel on your bed to dry while you are out enjoying your day.
There is definitely no need to pack for more than ten days or so of clothing for your world cruise.
2.
When deciding upon what you should pack
for your world cruise, keep in mind all of the fluctuating temperatures, as well as day and evening changes.
It's a great idea to remember to pack in layers that will coordinate well together.
Plain black pants can be worn for day or evening and will go with everything.
A basic sweater or light weight jacket can also be worn with pants, jeans, skirts or dresses as well.
Remembering to pack mostly basics that can be worn both during the day and to dinner is the key to packing less.
For a little variety, add a few dressier tops and accessories such as scarves and wraps, or an evening bag.
Keep in mind that you will be visiting several ports of call on your world cruise, and unless you plan on shipping all your souvenirs home, you will also want to keep some space free in your luggage for mementos or gifts.
3.
Although your world cruise ship will most likely
have all of the amenities of home, you should also remember to pack things that you need and won't be able to purchase on your trip.
All ships usually have an onboard doctor and small pharmacy, but you should pack plenty of regularly taken medication.
Also, special needs items such as particular brands of soap or lotions for allergic or sensitive skin might be extremely difficult to find and should also be brought in a large enough supply.
A spare pair of prescription glasses or extra contact lenses are also a good idea to bring along.
Remember that you can always purchase a few clothing items if needed, so concentrate on bringing hard to find items along on your world cruise.
