How to Camp With Dogs in New Jersey State Parks
- 1). Decide which of the three parks you'd prefer. Byrne State Forest is in the middle section of the state and Wharton and Parvin are in the southern section. All of them have hiking trails for dog walking.
- 2). Make a reservation for a pet-friendly campsite. While this is not required, since there aren't many parks that allow dogs the sites may fill up fast. Be prepared to pay in full during the reservation process.
- 3). Pack adequate supplies for your dog. A leash is required, as dogs cannot run free at the park. Bring bags along to clean up the ground after your dog does his business. If your dog loves his soft bed at night, include this as well. With drive-up sites, you won't have to carry the items far.
