    Fishing

    • Fishing is a very popular activity in the Florida Keys, and Tavernier is no exception. There is a boat ramp at Harry Harris Park to put your boat in. Shore fishing is another option to consider. Charter boats operate from Tavernier. You may take a private charter that can cost as much as $1,000 a day. Another option is a party boat, which is a boat shared by several people and is a much less expensive option. Fishing is allowed on most bridges, and many people fish on bridges no longer used by cars.

    Canoeing

The shelter cares for injured or displaced birds, primarily seabirds that would be found in the Keys and Everglades. Officials at the hospital care for wounded and sick birds and educate the public on the public about the plight of wild birds in the region. The hospital may be toured. You may also visit the sanctuary, where there are trails for walking and excellent opportunities for photography.
