From One Deception to Another
The human civilization is a tale of deception.
Each generation seems to have found the truth and the secret of the world only to be discovered by the next generation that the truth was deceptive.
From time immortal, man had created numerous deceptions and sold it to the world like Gospel Truth.
Yet people soon realized the truth and discarded such Truth only to be deceived by another deception.
In some ways the deceptions are like the advertisements of modern times where people are seen to win matches and do impossible things if they use a particular brand of soup or alcohol.
The success of these advertisement campaigns demonstrates that people do get deceived by such outlandish claims and buy the product.
They, however, soon know the truth and discard the product only to buy another product which had been sold by another deceptive advertisement.
When the second product also proves deceptive, they try next and often they come back again to the first product.
In the history of mankind, we have witnessed several such deceptions, which mankind tried to discard after knowing the truth.
Yet they could never discard them completely as they could never grasp the complete truth.
The God Deception Perhaps the oldest deception created by man was God.
He was represented to be Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent and beyond the imagination of human being.
God was found to be a useful explanation for everything in the world.
God brought plague to the people who committed sin while He also brought rains and happiness for the faithful.
God explained everything.
People prayed God for getting wealth, son, wife, husband, crops or rains.
They also prayed God to save themselves from all problems and diseases.
In exchange of getting what they wanted and avoiding what they did not want, they followed all the commandments.
The concept of God and blind faith in Him was always questioned by men as they have discovered that the promises made in the Scriptures were seldom fulfilled.
People, who were extremely religious, did not have any lesser problem than those who did not believe.
The plague killed the faithful and atheist alike.
The earthquakes killed everyone without any distinction of faith.
People did not become richer by prayers or by giving various offerings to God as promised in the Scriptures.
Many of them, therefore, concluded that Scriptures were false and discarded them.
The Churches, Mosques and Temples tried to force the people to follow the religion with iron hand by punishing the people who questioned the faith with death sentence.
Yet the disillusioned mankind was looking for another Truth to realize their destiny.
The Science Deception The birth of modern science can be traced to 15th century, when Galileo endorsed the heliocentric theory of Solar System which contradicted Bible where the Earth was said to be on the center.
He was punished by Church with house arrest.
Yet the birth of science could not be stopped and gradually science became the new idea of the world and a new means of salvation.
In many ways, science had nothing new as many thousand years ago Gautam Buddha had summarized the basic principle of science in the following words
This had given rise to new forms of theories which were created without including God in it.
Hence the Genesis was replaced by Evolution theory of Darwin and Survival of Fittest became the theory to explain every development in the world.
Yet within few centuries, science became a curse to the mankind when millions of people were killed by the powerful weapons made by scientists.
The politicians like Hitler used the same scientific theory of Survival of fittest to expand their empire which were used by British to rule the world.
The horror and loss of life made it evident to the world that science can not solve the problems of the mankind.
In the modern era, when the scientific discoveries had made unprecedented progress, the man is not safer than before.
The people instead of dying due to malnutrition, infections and plague are dying due to obesity, cancer, heart-attack, drug addiction, AIDS or Swine Flue.
Billions of people continue to be poor and not getting two meals a day despite of exponential rise of the agricultural productions.
The religions are therefore, back with a bang and today more than 90 percent of the world population believes in God and much lesser people believe in the Evolution.
The Socialism Deception The models of governance too have varied with time.
In the ancient days when God was explanation of everything, the kings ruled their kingdom.
They were believed to be the incarnation of God on earth with divine right to rule.
Yet people soon realized that the Kings were not superior than ordinary mortals and they like others were interested in their own good rather than the good of their people.
The loss of faith in Kings gradually gave rise to the other forms of governance notably Communism and democracies.
One was based on the principle of equality where no freedom was to be given to people to chose their government while the other was based on the principle of freedom and equality.
The communism rose very fast in the world after Lenin formed the first communist government of the world and the concept of socialism was adopted by many countries of the world.
Yet people soon get disillusioned with the reality of communism where they found greatest inequality.
The power of Stalin and Mao were no less than the power of any king in the earlier times.
Once people lost faith in communism in Russia, the socialism felled apart in many countries.
Yet many countries like China, Cuba continue to communist.
The Democracy Deception The most respected concept of governance today is democracy.
Every democratic country feels proud.
India declares proudly to be the biggest democracy of the world as much as America feels proud of being he oldest democracy.
Yet the democracies have been lagging behind in the recent decades as compared to the socialist countries like China.
People in the democratic countries are gradually waking up from the delusion of democracy as they are finding that even after sixty years of democratic rules in countries like India, the problems of common people are not solved as efficiently as those solved by China or Singapore by following other forms of governance.
Thus, while democracy has proven to be a bliss for some segment of the society who had been benefited from it, a large population feels disillusioned from it as democracy had failed to solve heir problems.
Despite of the bold claims made by Democrats like Lincoln that "Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people", most people in any democratic country find that in reality, "democracy is the government that is OFF the people, BUY the people and FAR the people.
" The Deception Continues The modern world seems to be confused being deceived by all concepts which were once declared as infallible.
They have not found solace and salvation in anything that is known.
Some of the people are therefore, coming back to the older deception believing that they were lesser evil than the present one.
However, the adventurers are busy in creating another deception that can be sold to the people again.
Even if new ideas do not emerge, the older ideas are sure to be presented in a new bottle to the people.
The deception shall, therefore, continue and the man shall continue to move from one deception to another.
It is only a wise person who can cull out the truth from all theories to make it the real Truth.
