How can we encourage our children to take more exercise? That can sometimes seem like a difficult question to answer. In this article we take a closer look at our garden games can be a useful way to ensure that your kids stay fit and healthy.

Getting your children to spend more time taking part in active games is not always easy. For starters, it may be that they see such activities as being dull and boring. You're probably going to have to compete with various modern technological solutions for their time.

Is it impossible to find outdoor activities that are as fun as video games or the television? By no means, but it will take some effort on your part!

Firstly, don't forget that your efforts will be for a great reason. Children who don't get enough exercise at a young age will be put in real danger of having significant health problems in later life. Once it's put in that context, you can soon see the benefits of promoting more exercise.

You could begin by taking a look at your garden. Is it offering an enticing environment for your children to play in? If not, you'll need to make some changes.

The sort of factors that you'll want to look at might include things like the size and quality of your lawn. Are you making the most of the space available to you? If your garden is full of plants, shrubs and flowers then it may look fantastic - but does it offer a great environment in which children can get some exercise?

You can make some simple changes to make it a better place to play in. You might also look to buy some new toys, games or equipment that could help to make it a more interesting space.

These could vary in terms of size and may depend to a great extent on the budget available to you and the age of your children.

Some good example of outdoor games that might appeal would include a trampoline, swings, a slide, a climbing frame, a paddling pool and a mini football goal. All of these games can be great fun. Just as importantly, they can encourage your children to exercise more.

The key here is to provide a garden environment that helps to encourage your children to enjoy playing outdoors. By making the most of your garden space, you can transform the ways in which your kids play.

You'll find that it's also enjoyable for you. Best of all, you'll be helping them to be more healthy!
