How to Make a Large Monogram Wire Letter
- 1). Open up a word processing program on the computer. Type in the initial letter you will be using for your monogram. Enlarge the letter to approximately 500 pt. type so that it fills up the page. Try different fonts until you select one that you like. Select a letter that has a scroll or a loop at the top so it can accommodate the ribbon. Print the letter out on a piece of paper. If you cannot find a font that you like, you can hand draw a letter for your monogram. Set the paper to the side of your workspace.
- 2). Measure how large you would like to make your letter. Place your yard stick to the side of your workspace so you can measure your letter as you start to form it.
- 3). Unroll a couple of feet of your craft wire. Start to form the wire to match the shape of your printed letter, using it as a visual guide. Use the wire cutters to cut the wire as you go. You may need to use multiple pieces of wire twisted together to form the letters in such cases as the letters “T”, “K” or “E”.
- 4). Measure out an 18 inch piece of double-sided satin ribbon. Cut the ribbon with the scissors. Loop the ribbon through the top of the letter. Tie into a pretty bow. Hang the letter in the desired location.
