Purdys is a hamlet in the town of North Salem in Westchester Country, New York State. It is south of Croton Falls and has its own Metro-North station. The station is 46 miles to Grand Central. The community of Purdys was named after a family of landowners. Attractions near Purdys include Schoolhouse Theatre, Anglebrook Golf Club, Empire Cinemas and Danbury Railway Museum. A number of fine dining restaurants can be found in Purdys and surrounding areas. It has an elegant atmosphere, with a 233-year-old fireplace and wide-plank wooden floors. It serves dinner Wednesdays to Sundays, is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, but is available for catering and private events seven days a week. Reservations are highly suggested.
