Manually submit your home and hallway pages (the pages that are links to all your site pages), or use an open-source automated submission software tool (available at Queen's University Library in the Reference section) to all the major search engines like Google, Infoseek and Lycos, as well as magazine and journal directories. - 2). Submit your article manually to each individual search engine, like Lycos or the Open Directory Project, by visiting their respective submission pages and submitting your home page. Please refer to resources 2 and 3. If using an automatic submission tool, submit your home page simultaneously to as many search engines at a time as the software you chose will allow.
- 3). If submitting manually, wait 30 minutes after submitting the home page to a search engine, and then submit the first hallway page. If using automatic submission software, submit the first hallway page to the search engines to which you submitted your home page.
- 4). If submitting manually, wait another 30 minutes, and submit a second hallway page. If using an automated software application, submit the second hallway page to all of the search engines that the program allows simultaneously.
- 5). Re-submit all of your home and hallway pages to all the major search engines once a month to ensure that they remain indexed.
