How to Remove an Electric Range
- 1). Turn off the circuit breaker to the electric range. There should be a circuit breaker in your home's electrical panel box dedicated just for the range. Flip the circuit breaker switch to the "Off" position.
- 2). Pull out and empty the range's bottom utility drawer, if necessary. Most utility drawers pull out by fully extending them and lifting up slightly on the front. Warming drawer will have lock levers on the outside slides. Flip up on one side and down on the other side to disconnect the drawer from the slides.
- 3). Reach under the range and pull the power cord out of the outlet.
- 4). Push the electric range back. Most electric ranges have anti-slip brackets on the floor connecting to the range's rear legs. Pushing the range back slides the rear legs to a wider slot on the bracket to free the legs from the bracket.
- 5). Grab the rear of the range behind its control panel with a helper's assistance. Pull the range forward about 1 foot to clear the rear anti-slip brackets. Pull the range away until you have full access around the appliance.
- 6). Slide an appliance dolly's skid under a one side of the range. Strap the range to the dolly with the dolly straps. Tip the dolly back to lift the range at an angle and roll it where it must be moved.
