How to Draw Table Lamps
- 1). Draw three sides of a rectangle, 1/2-inch long and 1/8-inch high. Do not draw the top of the rectangle--only the bottom and sides. This represents the base of the lamp, so place it accordingly.
- 2). Draw the top of the 1/2-inch rectangle, but leave a 1/8-inch hole in the top of the rectangle. This is where the stem will poke up into the shade of the lamp.
- 3). Draw a straight stem, 1/2-inch tall and 1/8-inch wide attached to the center of the base.
- 4). Draw a trapezoid with a 3/4-inch base, a 1/4-inch top centered over the base and 1/2-inch tall sides, connecting to the top of the stem. This is the shade. It should be symmetrical.
- 5). Draw two winding parallel lines from the bottom of the base, very close together, for the cord. Allow the cord to curve beneath the table the lamp sits upon.
