How to Fade Clothing With Peroxide
- 1). Choose the clothing you want to fade.
- 2). Place the articles of clothing in a sink or large plastic tub. If you are doing larger items such as jeans, limit the clothing articles to one at a time.
- 3). Put on rubber gloves. Pour hospital grade hydrogen peroxide, which has a concentration between 20 percent to 40 percent, into the sink or a large plastic tub.
- 4). Place the clothing articles in with the hydrogen peroxide. At a higher grade, hydrogen peroxide acts as a bleaching agent.
- 5). Monitor your clothing while it is soaking. Begin checking the clothing at five minute intervals to ensure you do not over fade the clothing.
- 6). Rinse your clothing in water once the pieces have faded to the level you are seeking. Wash the clothing through a gentle cycle.
