PHP Proxy Tutorial
- 1). Go to a proxy directory website. You may also see references to "HTTP Proxies" and "CGI Proxies." CGI proxies behave in the same way as PHP proxies. HTTP proxies function differently and need to be entered in the setup of your browser. Proxy sites frequently change their addresses to avoid detection and being blocked. For this reason, they rarely appear in search engine results.
- 2). Browse through the proxy server listings. Different directories give different levels of detail about each proxy site. Some will show how long the proxy has been operating. This is important as newer proxies are less likely to be detected and blocked.
- 3). Click on the name of a proxy in the list. This will be a link to the site. It is important to know the country the site is based in as the target website may behave differently according to the home country of the visitor. Choose a proxy in a country you wish to see content for. If regional settings are not a consideration, choose a proxy in the country where you are. This will give faster responses.
- 4). Look through the PHP proxy site to find an address field. The field should be easy to find as generally these sites have only one active field. The rest of the page will be filled with advertising.
- 5). Enter the address of the site you wish to visit anonymously and press Enter. The proxy site will then communicate with this site. Your details will not be sent. The web page you want will be shown in the proxy's window. The address in your browser will continue to be the address of the proxy and not the visited page. If you click on a link in the page, or a menu option, you will be shown the next page and the address will still be kept as that of the proxy server.
